Golden Leaf Handwoven and Hand Dyed Silk Very Fine Wool Scarf

$58.00

This is a new fabric for the scarves that I dye, They are handwoven by fair trade artisans and each one is a little different. I personally love the minimalist look of the style. It is really soft and supple and the lightest weight that I have seen in this fiber blend. It is great for travel and weighs next to nothing,

The golden hue is a result of my experimentation with Myrobalan and Tannin dyes. Myrobalan is a from the Terminalia chebula tree, native to SE Asia and India. The tree produces pods that are ground up to make the dye and it is used extensively in Ayurvedic Medicine,

Myrobalan has a lot of Tannin which darkens the colors, brings out browns. After dyeing the scarf with Myrobalan, I gave it an afterbath of Tannin which turned it into gold,

Caring for the scarf: Hand wash in cool water, pH neutral detergent (Dawn) and hang to dry, If you would like less texture you can iron it on a wool setting,

64” Long, 12” Wide

50% Silk/ 50% Very Fine merino wool
