Pumpkin Orange Hand Dyed Silk Scarf with Cotton Balls

$45.00

Madder root and Marigold dyes mixed together create a pumpkin color. This is one of my experiments of mixing dyes together, not knowing what will come out. The pumpkin color is striking on the silk organza cotton ball scarf.

Woven by fair trade artisans in Bhubaneswar, India, the weaver inserts cotton balls when the loom shed is open. The cotton ball is secured in the fabric by weaving silk thread in the same space. The silk organza takes the dye very well and gived a saturated color. Because the cotton balls are dense fiber, the dye sits on the surface, giving a different hue.

Care: Hand wash or machine gentle cycle, hang to dry, may be ironed.

Dimensions: 68” long, 22” wide
