Coral and mint green flowers on vintage silk kimono fabric are made into a scarf that can go with navy, cream, white and pink fashions. Versatile, it can be tied in several ways to create different looks. Washable, soft, comfortable and easy care. Great for spring, summer and resort/cruise wear.
This charming floral pattern in coral and mint green is a great way to accessorize your spring and summer fashions. I made the scarf from a vintage silk kimono fabric from the 1960’s. The drape is soft and supple and the scarf is very comfortable to wear. It can go from dressy to casual, out for the evening, or to the office for work. The kimono scarf looks great with creams, whites, pinks and navy outfits.
I always wash my silk kimono fabrics twice before ironing them. You can care for them easily in your home. Just put on a delicate cycle in a front loading washer, or hand wash in warm water. You can roll it in a towel and hang to dry, and iron on a silk setting.
You can tie this scarf in several ways to expand your wardrobe. It also looks great as a head scarf too.

The shawl is hand woven in a fair trade village in India. The weaver incorporated inlaid linear designs throughout the shawl. I dyed the lavender hue with logwood and cochineal mixed in the same pot. The blue pattern is created by shibori clamping and dyeing it in an indigo vat. Washable, colorfast.
