This silk kimono scarf features an unusual mid century geometric print in black, balanced by washes of soft pink and white. The scarf is made from vintage silk kimono fabric from the 1960’s and has a woven wave pattern which adds texture to the background. The pink and black color combination was a popular palette back in the 1950’s. One of the themes in modernist design was to incorporate geometric elements with abstract placement on the fabric.
The scarf looks great with black dresses, navy blue, white, pink, beige and tan clothing. You can wear it to work, out to dinner, with jeans, or on a cruise.
I always wash my silk kimono fabrics twice before ironing them. You can care for them easily in your home. Just put on a delicate cycle in a front loading washer, or hand wash in warm water. You can roll it in a towel and hang to dry, and iron on a silk setting.
This silk scarf can be tied in several ways to expand your wardrobe. Pack it for spring and summer travel and warm winter resorts.
