This silk infinity scarf is made with black French silk velvet, woven by M Guegain and Sons in northern France. Red and black paisley print in silk charmeuse is on the reverse side. This color combinations is one of our most popular for the holidays and Valentine’s Day.

The shawl is hand woven in a fair trade village in India. The weaver incorporated inlaid linear designs throughout the shawl. I dyed the lavender hue with logwood and cochineal mixed in the same pot. The blue pattern is created by shibori clamping and dyeing it in an indigo vat. Washable, colorfast.

Super soft, warm, and with a great drape, this hand woven silk wool scarf is dyed with cochineal and little soda ash to raise the pH of the dye bath. The weaver from a fair trade village in India warped the loom with high twist silk and used very fine soft merino wool in the weft. When washed, the high twist silk gives the crinkled texture.
